I don't know if this was already mentioned. The ability for the community to insert alerts on the map when there's an accident, a police car, a radar etc.
That's how waze got popular before they were bought by google. These types of small projects are exactly the kind of projects where people like to get involved so having the option to do so would surely attract the same kind of crowd as waze but for privacy conscious users.
I know the live data is coming from Google, but right now one would have to open google maps or waze to create an alert while using vela map, so having the feature built in would probably help for those who want to degoogle.
