Do I need BrotherScannerDocker if I already use paperless-ngx and have a FTP server links with it?

Sorry for this newbie question. I never manage a network scanner before.

Do I need BrotherScannerDocker if I already use paperless-ngx and have a FTP server links with it? Since I already use paperless-ngx, I think I don't need BrotherScannerDocker's GUI.

My imaginary workflow: Users go to the scanner -> Scan to Network -> Upload to FTP server -> Digest by paperless-ngx automatically -> User check results from paperless-ngx

Do I miss anything from the above workflow? Do I get any benefits if I use BrotherScannerDocker?

In this case, you don't need it. I don't have the option to scan to FTP server from the buttons on my scanner. If that is an option with your scanner, you do not require this tool.

Thanks for the clarification.

FYI, my scanner only allows me to upload to FTP or Samba only. Probably not to SFTP. I put my scanner in my trusted VLAN, so it is ok. So BrotherScannerDocker might still useful if someone need more secure upload option.
