This repository does not impose one blanket license over Project Shadow's two release archives.
Full reference license texts are preserved in LICENSES/:
LICENSES/Apache-2.0.txt; andLICENSES/CC-BY-4.0.txt.
Those texts do not expand the path-scoped grants described below. The root
LICENSE file is an Apache-2.0 reference for eligible original software, not a
whole-repository classification. REUSE.toml supplies practical
SPDX mappings for clearly eligible repository-authored files.
Project_Shadow_R1_Public_Release_Candidate_2026-08-14.zip contains its own
LICENSE, LICENSE-DOCS, NOTICE, and RIGHTS_MANIFEST.json. Those files are
controlling. Exact nested components preserve all attached path-scoped terms;
packaging does not relicense them.
Project_Shadow_Full_Canon_Myth_Sidecar_v0.3.4_OPTIONAL_EXTERNAL_RESEARCH_2026-08-14.zip
is a source-available, mixed-rights research and commentary companion. It has
no single whole-package open-source license. Its complete, unmodified package
redistribution permission applies only to rights controlled by its grantor and
does not grant rights in third-party material. Its internal NOTICE,
RIGHTS_AND_PROVENANCE.md, CONTRIBUTOR_RIGHTS.md,
MIXED_RIGHTS_MANIFEST.json, licenses, manifest, and checksums are controlling.
The sidecar must remain separate from canonical R1. It is unadmitted, outside R1 conformance, default off, nonauthorizing, and ineligible for production or operational deployment.
The Apache License 2.0 text at LICENSE applies only to eligible original
software explicitly classified under that license, including the preserved R1
verification tool in tools/verify_public_release.py. Preserved governance
evidence retains its original status and terms. Release metadata and landing
documentation do not expand the rights of either archive.
No license or notice in this repository grants trademark rights, third-party rights, endorsement, certification, safety, efficacy, production authority, operational-deployment authority, or a legal-compliance opinion.
