It’s amazing that you're looking to help out. No matter your profession or knowledge base, every single perspective is incredibly valuable.
Just like the "Gentle Coding" mindset, we believe in a relaxed, cooperative, and mistake-tolerant atmosphere.
- Mistakes are totally okay. If you mess up a Markdown table or a link, don't worry about it. We will figure it out and clean it up together.
- No elitism. You don't need a PhD to share an interesting observation or a strange AI behavior you encountered.
- Be selfish, be nice. Contribute what catches your interest, and let’s keep the vibe friendly and constructive.
- De-Slop it!: Yes, a lot of this was written by AI. I tried to tone it down :D. But it would be wonderful to have all texts fully rewritten by humans! (Please don't just feed a paragraph back into an AI to rewrite it ;) )
- Share Your Test Runs: Run some experiments with your favorite local or cloud models using different emotional contexts. Post your raw logs in the Discussions section!
- Play Devil's Advocate: We explicitly want to combat confirmation bias. If you find a case where a gentle approach completely fails or turns the AI into a "yes-man", please open a discussion about it.
- Review Existing Research: Dig deep into the data in this repo and bring together what is hidden! What new questions emerge? Where are the blind spots?
- Refine and Create Tests: The best data is data that can be easily compared! We need test templates for all kinds of use cases.
- Make it Pretty: Correct typos or make a table less of an eyesore. Bring in some structure so users know where to go and where to find things.
- Expand the Research Base: Did you find a new study, blog article, GitHub project, or any other source that fits into our
RESEARCH.md? Open an Issue or drop a Pull Request (PR) to add it to the list. - Talk About It: Make people aware of this meta-analysis project and get more hands on deck! It's not about just praising our approach, though — we want to actively invite people to the discussion.
- Tell Me What Is Missing: Just tell me, please XD Whatever it is! No matter how big or small you think it might be, it is important to me.
- Be Nice!: That's it. Just... be nice! Not just here, but everywhere. This repo started because I experienced harsh conditions myself and reacted in similar ways to that stressful environment. Let's change that environment, together. Because whatever happens to the "gentle" part in Gentle Coding... being nice will always be the better way to treat fellow humans. :)
