Iată o întrebare foarte bună! I would also like to see Unicode characters displayed correctly. |

its very sad to see that even after going open source, development hasn't progressed the way i expected, that is everyone chiming in to add new features etc. (sorry i cant code) this is by far the best file manager and ive used it since early 2000's |

It will take for OS to be Unicode... I'm slowly chipping away the ANSI stuff and replacing it with TCHAR, so that we'll be able to switch to Unicode, but this will probably take years to change all the code. All in all.. unicode will take time. In between there will be some nice updates.. like tabs similar to what's in Vivaldi browser. |

Hi Waldemar,
Thank you for answering.
It can be quicker if we won’t address non-latin languages?
Just asking…
Best regards,
Costin

There is option to switch to UTF8, but again the code was not written to handle multiply bytes characters so there could be severe issues.

For those interested, my fork Sally has had Unicode filename support for a while now — Romanian cedilla characters, CJK filenames, and other non-ANSI names all work. As of v1.0.8, all releases also ship with language packs for 10 languages across x64, x86, and ARM64. Binaries are on the releases page. |

As AS devs stated back then, AS does not support extended characters. Are there any plans to enable these?

Right now, the RO extended characters are shown as "?" and they cannot be copied/moved...
