What happens
The Slack invite link on https://owasp.org/slack/invite is no longer active. Clicking it falls through to Slack's domain-signup page (owasp.slack.com/signup#/domain-signup), which only accepts @decodedclouds.com email addresses and tells everyone else to "contact the workspace administrator" — with no way to do that. An older invite link that Google still surfaces (zt-3f5o62ulw) is dead the same way. Happy to attach a screenshot.
Why it matters beyond the broken link
I came in through the GenAI Security Project — their contribute page (https://genai.owasp.org/contribute/) routes all newcomers through this invite link, so right now the front door for those working groups is locked. And since the GlueUp membership pages are easy to find while the free Slack path is broken, a newcomer can reasonably conclude that participating in OWASP requires a paid membership — the opposite of what the contribute page says ("No OWASP membership is required to contribute").
Suggested fix
Regenerate the shared invite link (set to no expiration / no usage cap if policy allows) and update the page. A line on the invite page about who to contact if the link breaks again would keep the failure mode from being a dead end next time.
Found on July 3, 2026. I'm new here — came to join the GenAI/agentic security working groups — so apologies if this is already known or filed in the wrong repo.
