Currently we can select history settings on a point as 'Periodic' or 'COV', but we cannot select both. I would like the option to select both. So it will log a history value BOTH when the value changes, AND at an interval time.
This allows us to capture complete information about the point, as well as having up to date history records on most timeframes.
Eg. Temperature Setpoints are not frequently changed, so they are usually set up with COV histories, however when viewing charts, because there may not have been a Setpoint change in many months, the Setpoint values do not appear on the charts. Instead I would set this to use BOTH COV and Interval, so that we would capture exactly when the Setpoint changed, and also have daily entry in the history log.
