Sony head tracker slight drift every minute

for reference I have Sony 1000XM6, I put in your changes in the other issue with the incorrect gyro problem. and that problem has been fixed for me and is great. However this happened before that change, and is now happening more often where every minute or two the "center" will drift in random directions and gets worse and worse over time. i will have to recenter it almost every single minute. it has become enough to make an issue and wondor if there is a fix? because its almost unplayable if i have to recenter it every minute because it drifts away live infront of my eyes when i dont even move.

Unfortunately I do believe this is a hardware issue. I do not believe the issue is with the program, but rather with Sony's choice of hardware inside their earbuds and headsets. Others have reported drift while listening to media, which seems similar to what is happening here; the source of the audio, while listening with spatial audio, will drift up and to the left as you described, and as I have experience as well. I can't say for sure if there's any fix on the software side, because this seems like poorly calibrated or faulty hardware, but would it be possible to implement some sort of correction for this?
For example, you could measure the drift from center over time by mounting the headset over a non-moving object, like a box, and then letting the tracker run for ~10 minutes or so to record and measure the deviation from center. A correction profile could then be created, which would process/cancel out the erroneous movement to compensate for the drift. This will probably only work if the drifting is consistent.

I can do some more testing and report back whether the drift is consistent or not between sessions.

I've been testing this with LMU and I have the same issue - while I am in a driving session, the camera position slowly drifts to the left until it's unusable, as it looks I am sitting completely in the left in the car :D

Sorry for the long delay, I just finished moving and the fall semester just started. To say that I've been busy would be an understatement. I'll find some free time this weekend to run the tests I mentioned in my last comment. I think this project may be abandoned at this point, unfortunately.
