0.7.0 release planning

0.7.0 is scheduled for the first week of December. Let's collect the Issues/PRs that we want completed by then and think about what we want to move to 0.7.1.
We should push this release before submitting the JOSS paper.

Let's wait for the checks to pass on #302 , then we can merge that.
I did notice that the readthedocs build log shows some warnings, but I don't think any of these are critical. We can address these in 0.7.1.
