set up renv on the case studies repository, to help make sure main is always working. Note that setup.qmd may also need to be modified.

@MOshima-PIFSC has experience doing this, so maybe could help?

@k-doering-NOAA I am working on this and trying to add renv to the GHA render but I am getting an error that it can't install Matrix package

It seems like its a Mac compiler issue and I was wondering if you have an idea of how to get around this/is there a specific reason the workflow uses MacOS instead of ubuntu?
I've tried a few things, configure renv to prefer binaries and install the Matrix binary package first but its still getting stuck when it installs it with renv.

Obviously, @k-doering-NOAA will have a better answer for all of your questions but I do not remember anywhere we decided that we had to use Mac for a specific reason and I am fine with switching to ubuntu.
