Requires Visual Studio which is unexpectedly and alarmingly HUGE, leaving no room on my HD. Cannot continue with this. Much time wasted installing and uninstalling Visual Studio.

I use the Visual Studio Community IDE because it is easy and I have the disk space, but it is not required to build the solution. I believe that you can build the solution from the command line with a small number of Visual Studio components, not the whole IDE. Install the Visual Studio Installer and then choose Visual Studio Community 2026. From there, select the Individual Components tab. I think you can get by with just:

• MSBuild
• MSVC Build Tools for x64/x86 (Latest)
• C++ MFC for x64/x86
• C++ v14.44 MFC for v143 build tools (assuming v143 is the latest toolset)
• Windows 11 SDK

There are lots of web pages describing command line building. It looks pretty easy. You also might try Visual Studio Code with a minimal C++/MFC install.

Thanks - I have (I think) installed Context Free without installing Visual Studio, to my surprise - the components needed must already be on my computer.
