All files radomly orphaned

Every single file on the server randomly orphaned for all users and all groups. There is nothing in the log that shows unassigned files and non where unassigned. 

Can email problems cause this? mSend will not hook in to gsuit correctly so I have been running it without e-mail functionality. 

How can this be traced?
