MemoAI - Memorization Assistant for Students

MemoAI is an application that helps students memorize their lessons using artificial intelligence to generate summaries, quizzes, and flashcards from their course notes.

  • Video Upload: Store your course videos in the cloud (Cloudinary)

  • Offline Mode: Use the app even without an internet connection

Installation

  1. Clone this repository

    git clone https://github.com/your-username/memoai.git
    cd memoai
  2. Create a virtual environment and install dependencies

    python -m venv venv
    source venv/bin/activate  # Windows: venv\Scripts\activate
    pip install -r requirements.txt
  3. Copy the .env.example file to .env and configure your environment variables

    cp .env.example .env
    # Edit .env file with your API key
  4. Initialize the database

    python init_db.py
  5. Start the application

    uvicorn app.main:app --reload
  6. Access the API at http://localhost:8000

  7. The API documentation is available at http://localhost:8000/docs

Technologies Used

  • Backend: FastAPI, SQLAlchemy
  • DataBase: SQLite (peut être facilement remplacé par PostgreSQL)
  • Artificial intelligence: OpenAI GPT-3.5
  • Video storage: Cloudinary
