Installation Method

Releases (AppImage/deb/rpm/tar.gz)

Linux Distribution

Ubuntu 22.04

Tidal Hi-Fi Version

8.1.1

Current Behavior

When the Tidal UI change happened with the moving album cover and others, a slight crossfade appeared. I mostly listen to albums, especially albums, where the tracks connect to each other, so you can imagine how annoying it is that it cuts the first 0.5-1 seconds off the song.

There is a crossfade button that Tidal added to the UI, but that really doesn't do anything. What I am suspecting that this is a bug with the web version, but I am not getting this issue on my phone or in a browser, only tidal-hifi does this.

Sidenote: I have installed it via .deb, but appimage does the same thing. The latest version doesn't really matter, I've checked all versions of tidal-hifi from 6.3.1 to latest.

Expected Behavior

No crossfade

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open the app
  2. Play a song that continues with the next one (eg. Kublai Khan - Cloth Ears
  3. Seek to near the end
  4. Wait until next song (in this case High Hopes) starts
  5. Experience the (sadly) crossfaded music

Screenshots and Logs

No response

Additional Context

I don't think the problem is with my linux system settings, since any other player including Tidal in a browser works fine.

If you need audio example of this or any relevant logs please let me know what you need and I will send it to you. Thank you for this amazing app and the support for it :)
