How to automatically copy the bibtex citation without displaying the extension popup?

I am using BibItNow to create bibtex citations. Everytime I want to create a citation, I have to open the extension popup, click the "copy citation" button, and then close the popup. It is a little inconvenient. I hope I could use a shortcut to copy the the citation automatically without displaying hte popup. Thank you!
