LetterMarkd does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information.
The extension operates entirely within your local browser environment. Below is a detailed breakdown of how data is handled:
- Text Selection: When you highlight text on a webpage, the extension processes that text locally to determine if it matches a movie title. This data is never sent to us or any third party.
- External Data Fetching: To provide ratings and metadata, the extension sends requests to publicly available websites (Letterboxd, IMDb, and Box Office Mojo). these requests are standard HTTPS fetches and do not include any user-specific identifiers.
- Local Storage: The extension uses
chrome.storage.localto store your preferences (allowlist/blocklist) and to cache movie metadata. This data stays on your device and is never synced or uploaded to any server.
Since we do not collect any data, we do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer any information to third parties.
LetterMarkd does not use any remote code. All scripts, styles, and assets are bundled within the extension package and are executed locally.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.
