Mine LXS

Anyone can mine LXS. You don't need to be technical, you don't need special hardware, and you don't need permission — just a computer and a wallet address. Mining is how new LXS is created and how the network stays secure. Do the work, earn the coin.

Download the LXS Miner app

A graphical app — no terminal. Open it, paste your LXS address (or create a wallet inside the app), pick Pool or Solo, and press Start. A live dashboard shows your balance, hashrate, blocks, and the network.

macOS: open the .dmg and drag LXS Miner to Applications. Windows: run the .exe. First launch may warn about an unsigned app — macOS: right-click → Open; Windows: “More info” → “Run anyway”. It's open-source; build it yourself from the repo.

Four steps to your first block

Download and open the LXS Miner app above.

Paste your LXS address — where your rewards go. No address? Press Create wallet and the app makes one and shows you the key to back up.

Choose Pool or Solo. Not sure? Choose Pool — it pays steady. (More on the difference below.)

Press Start and watch the dashboard — your balance, hashrate, blocks, and the live network.

Pool or solo?

Both earn you real LXS — they just pay differently. Finding a block on your own is like a lottery: rare, but the whole reward is yours. A pool trades those rare jackpots for small, steady payouts.

⛏ Pool mining — recommended

Everyone's computers work as one team. When the pool wins a block, the 25 LXS is split among miners in proportion to the work each contributed, and paid to your wallet automatically.

Steady, frequent payouts — a little on every pool block instead of waiting to win one alone.

Best for normal computers.

0% pool fee — the whole reward goes to the miners.

Payouts wait ~50 minutes (12 blocks) to mature, so a reorg can't pay out coins the pool never received.

🎯 Solo mining

Your machine competes by itself. You keep the whole 25 LXS each time you win a block — but only then.

Lumpy rewards — some days you win a few, some days none. That's normal proof-of-work.

Best for powerful hardware.

More decentralized — you build your own blocks and choose what's in them.

Runs a full node, so it also helps sync and secure the chain.

The technical way

Advanced users can run it straight from the binary or source — get it from the repo: github.com/LXS-NETWORK/LXS.

Pool mining (no sync, no datadir — just hash and get paid):

lxs mine -pool https://lxsnetwork.duckdns.org -coinbase <YOUR_ADDRESS>

Solo mining (runs a full node):

lxs mine -coinbase <YOUR_ADDRESS> -genesis lxs-genesis.json -p2p-port 30303 \
-bootstrap /ip4/79.72.25.166/tcp/30303/p2p/12D3KooWRSSSocSqWG978SWKpimQsti4WkmjytQX7g1qgJKnNzuA

What the flags do:

-pool

— mine into the pool at this address (steady, proportional payouts).

-coinbase <YOUR_ADDRESS>
— the address that receives your rewards.

-bootstrap <SEED>
— a seed peer to join the network through (how your node finds others).

-genesis lxs-genesis.json
— the genesis file that defines the chain (ships inside every download).

-p2p-port 30303
— the port your node listens on for peers.

The built-in binary already knows the seed, so
-bootstrap
is optional — shown here for clarity.

Common questions

Do I need a graphics card or an ASIC? No. LXS mines on an ordinary CPU — a normal laptop or desktop is enough to start.

Is my computer doing anything shady in the background? No. The miner only runs while its window is open, and it stops the moment you close it. It's open-source — you can read exactly what it does.

How much will I earn? It depends on how many miners are on the network and your share of the work. Rewards grow as you contribute and as blocks are found. See the FAQ for details.
