What can be redistributed?

License.txt says:

• Slim Devices logos, graphics, animations, and documentation are (c) Slim Devices and are not licensed for redistribution.

Do we have a clear idea of what this includes? If it’s just things like HTML/EN/html/images/transporter_logo.gif, then I guess we could throw them away and draw new (or do without). If it’s all graphics and icons, then it’s a much bigger job.

Not much help for a logo, graphic, or animation. Also, files added recently, that Slim Devices could not plausibly claim copyright over, such as DEVCONTAINERS.md, don't include a GPL notice, so this doesn’t really clarify anything.

or ask us for written permission to redistribute, which we will grant for any reasonable purpose.

Is there anything in writing from the transfer from Logitech to lyrion.org that could cover this? Presumably lyrion.org has permission to redistribute these things, at least?

Is it too late to ask Logitech to re-license everything as GNU GPL?

This was discussed previously on the forum, but I don't think any clear conclusion was reached.

As with that linked discussion I won't be of much help here... Unfortunately all people who were ever somewhat involved with Squeezebox related stuff have left the company. It would be hard to find anyone having a clue. On the upside I believe there simply is no one caring about it at this point any more. But I know, that's not a legal term.

If the documentation and associated images are moved to the Lyrion website (as discussed in the forum), then much of this becomes moot from an LMS package point of view.
