In which cases are those used? I thought the game was only available on steam nowadays?

Those are used by Northwood staff.

Currently, Northwood Staff cannot use the syncid command. The server will see the UserID as username@northwood instead of the SteamID.

Yes, I understand that, I am wondering more how it works in detail so I can test it. How does one sign in using a northwood account? And can I emulate this on my server somehow so I can test this?

It isn’t possible to emulate it — their UserID simply gets overwritten, and there’s not much else to it.

Ok, I can make a specific check to use when the ID ends in @northwood, but it may lead to unforeseen consequences as I can't test any of it. For now I recommend using your steam account to moderate your server and northwood account to do northwood things.

The Northwood ID is linked to the SteamID, so that would require me to use two Steam accounts.

Wait is the northwood id just an alias of your steam id? Then what is the point of it?

As I can't test this myself, could you check what happens if you manually add the northwood id to the rolesync config?

If it works it should be pretty easy to modify the command's check, and if it doesn't work it should tell me where to look.

I think it was that the code was expecting @steam appended to the end. I don’t have the plugin installed, so I’m unable to check.
