As title suggests, whenever the mouse enters or exits any IMGUI window while there is at least one placed part in the editor, a frametime spike occurs, with the intensity of the spike being proportional to the number of launch sites available to the first vehicle editor opened.
From KSC, after clicking on the SPH and having a vessel in the editor (so no empty hangar), moving the mouse over or out of an IMGUI window will cause a lag spike proportional to the number of runways available from the current launch site. Switching to the VAB will persist this same intensity of lag spike, as long as the editor is not left. If the "starting editor" is instead the VAB, then the lag spike is instead proportional to the number of selectable launch pads, and this intensity will carry over to the SPH. Other actions such as dragging windows and (right?-)clicking certain windows also causes lag spikes.
This seems to be the underlying cause of the "Actual Sites: Airports" lag spikes. Since that mod adds 600 runways, whenever the SPH is opened directly, any mouse-over event causes a massive (500-1000ms) lag spike. The actual issue seems to lie with KK, with ASA significantly exemplifying the effect.
