This Code of Conduct applies to all spaces under md-evals community control:
- GitHub repositories, issues, and discussions
- Pull request comments and reviews
- Code comments in contributions
- Project documentation
- Community events and forums
- Social media when representing the project
- Public communications about the project
- Project mailing lists
This Code of Conduct applies to all people who:
- Contribute code or documentation
- Participate in discussions or issues
- Attend community events
- Represent the project in any capacity
It applies equally to maintainers and users.

All reports will be:
- Treated confidentially
- Handled promptly
- Investigated fairly
- Protected from retaliation
Reporters should expect:
- Initial acknowledgment within 48 hours
- Status updates within one week
- Final resolution within reasonable time
- Explanation of actions taken (to extent possible)
When we receive a report, we will:
- Acknowledge receipt within 48 hours
- Investigate thoroughly and fairly
- Determine if Code of Conduct violation occurred
- Respond with appropriate action
- Follow up to ensure resolution
Responses may include (in increasing severity):
1. Warning
- For minor or first-time violations
- Clear explanation of unacceptable behavior
- Expectation of improvement
2. Temporary Suspension
- For repeated violations or serious incidents
- Duration may range from days to weeks
- Conditions for reinstatement
3. Permanent Ban
- For severe, repeated, or unresolved violations
- May include removal of contributions
- Removal from all project spaces
4. Additional Actions
- Action on external platforms if appropriate
- Law enforcement involvement if necessary
- Community notification about serious violations
Maintainers have discretion to take appropriate action including banning individuals from all project spaces.
We prohibit retaliation against anyone who:
- Reports violations in good faith
- Participates in investigations
- Advocates for this Code of Conduct
Retaliation is a serious violation itself.
To maintain trust, we will:
- Document significant Code of Conduct incidents
- Share aggregate statistics
- Review and improve our processes
- Be transparent about enforcement actions when appropriate
If you believe action taken was unjust, you can:
- Request a review within 30 days
- Provide additional context or evidence
- Request a discussion with maintainers
Appeals will be:
- Reviewed by different maintainers if possible
- Decided within two weeks
- Final
