[Feature Request] Disable Dimming on Long Press

I'm using the Blue Series VZM31-SN.

Can we get a way for DimmingSpeedUpLocal and DimmingSpeedDownLocal to be disabled so that long pressing the switches does nothing? I would like to be able to use these for scene control / Home Assistant automation.

Maybe setting 0 can disable them instead of turning the lights immediately on or off? I feel like single pressing up or down to immediately turn on or off makes more sense. Setting these to 1 is basically instant anyways.

Sorry if I am missing something, but "Disable local control" does this right? You can still use scenes in this case if that is what you are trying to do.

I wouldn't want to do this because then I wouldn't be able to control my lights if my server goes down.

I want to be able to use hold-up and hold-down to trigger scenes around my house, not dim the lights the switch is connected to. But there seems to be no way to (reasonably) disable dimming on a paddle hold.

I'm proposing this be changed to "A setting of 0 disables local dimming". I can't imagine a reason anyone would use hold-up or hold-down to turn the lights on/off. They would simply click up or down once. Or set it to 1 as 100ms is very fast anyways, almost instant.

Let me make sure I understand. You would like to:

• Dim the attached load remotely
• Turn the switch on/off locally by pressing the button up/down
• Not Dim the attached load locally by holding up/down but still send scene commands to the hub

Is that correct? This is with regular dimmable bulbs attached right?

@InovelliUSA yes, that looks right to me!

• Dim the attached load remotely: Yes. For me, I just send a direct brightness command from home assistant.
• Turn the switch on/off locally by pressing the button up/down: Yes, I want the lights to still be able to turn on and off if my server dies.
• Not Dim the attached load locally by holding up/down but still send scene commands to the hub: I believe button press actions are sent anyways regardless of switch setting (e.g. single, double, triple, hold, etc) and I can already act on them. That's why I phrased it as "disable dimming".

These are regular dimmable bulbs in my ceiling.

@alexrmay91 I think your solution is reasonable and I will put it in as a feature request. I can't think of a scenario where a user would want to set the dimming speed to 0 locally and have it instantly turn on / off when holding the button so having it not do anything would probably work.
