Resolved in the updated Scryfall catalog snapshot published to Hugging Face:

Resolution path: the rebuild includes back-face image rows and encodes the face in the returned catalog ID. Front faces still return the plain Scryfall UUID. Back faces return the Scryfall UUID with a _back suffix, so callers can strip the suffix when they need the base Scryfall ID while still knowing that the matched reference image was the back face.

The new catalog contains 109,711 rows total: 105,773 front-face rows and 3,938 back-face rows. The Hugging Face manifest now points scryfall-mtg.latest at this snapshot, and the refreshed web scanner asset bundle uses it as well.

Long-term, not sure this is going to be the best path forward -- in the future, I think I might like to see something like:

detectedCard['id'] = "<sfid>"
detectedCard['groupId'] = "<oracleId>"
detectedCard['face'] = "front" | "back"

And return the different fields in the dictionary object returned by the detector -- rather than trying to pack everything into the single ID returned by the library. So even though I patched _back into milo1-scryfall-mtg-2026-07-09.npz, I think I'm going to change it in a future release.
