Crash on cycles shader editing

Description

first thanks a lot for amazing Gaffer
So Gaffer crashes when in interactive render mode, i try to edit any parameters of cycles shader
also in versions gaffer-1.7.0.0a2-windows and gaffer-nightly

Hi @maisamh80, thanks for the report, though without further details such as an example scene, we don't have much to go on here.

If I were to guess, I'd suspect this crash to be the same problem as #4913 which relates to issues with Cycles' handling of interactive updates to subdivision surfaces. If your geometry is meant to be subdivided, then as a test you could try using a MeshTessellate node to perform the subdivision in Gaffer before handing off polys to Cycles.
