Introducing SketchForge beta programme

The goal is simple: let people test upcoming fixes and features before I call them stable.

The first beta focus will be:

• fixing boolean/grouping issues
• improving view controls
• better precision and dimension behavior
• direct chamfer and fillet tools
• sketch-to-3D experiments

SketchForge is still early, so bugs and unexpected behavior are expected. What I need most is useful feedback: browser/OS, steps to reproduce, screenshots/videos if possible, and what you expected to happen.

I’m not trying to promote SketchForge heavily again until the editor is more stable. This beta is about making the software better, not ch
asing hype.

Hi. My question is about Docker for Win11. I'm really interested in this, discovered it trying to learn how to add cubes with holes to an adapter I'm making. The holes are to hold brass thread inserts.

I know just enough to be able to use Powershell with instructions and basic Linux. I did a quick search in Github. The most popular Docker-Desktop is for Linux, the second most popular is in Spanish.

For SketchForge, the basic requirement is:

• Windows 11
• Docker Desktop installed
• WSL 2 enabled / used by Docker Desktop

Then run the SketchForge Docker instructions that is in the repo.

So the rough path is(see instructions on how to setup docker):

1. Install official Docker Desktop for Windows.
2. Make sure it uses the WSL 2 backend.
3. Clone/download the SketchForge repo.
4. Run the Docker command from the README / docker compose setup.
5. Open the local address it gives you in the browser.

Thanks much, I know you have your hands full. I think I got the Docker figured out. A Google rather than a Github specific search got me to the site. Their MS store link is bad, but it did download from their site. It's installed but not yet tested. I'll keep you posted as input from a noob.
