I also had duplication when using 3DS Mii Edit Tool. I carefully read [https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/comments/96henk/comment/j6xv7gj/] and found that I needed to change the stuff of these two miis (change hair, color, etc.) and save it for it to take effect successfully.

If do not change and save, the database cannot be updated, and the replaced personal mii will be copied to the previous one.
