Hello, no there's no cloud involved, the sync feature is P2P only, you need to be on the same wifi for it to work, it app/phone itself acts as the local bridge/server to send and receive the data

I don't know if i misunderstood your message, if one device has mobile data opened you need to connect the other device to the same network (mobile data) using hotspot, if they are on separate network (each on his own mobile data) it will not work as they are on different network IPs
