Is it possible to make the shorts tab more local?

I mean, is it possible to configure the shorts tab to only show videos from the channels I'm subscribed to?

Not for the Shorts tab itself. That tab blends four sources (related, explore, discovery and your subscriptions) with fixed shares, and subscriptions only ever get a small capped part of it. There's no setting to change the mix.

You can get a Shorts feed with only your subscriptions from the Subscriptions tab instead:

1. Settings → Feeds & content, under Subscriptions: turn on Subscription shorts and Subscriptions shorts shelf.
2. On the Subscriptions tab, tap a Short in that shelf. It plays the Shorts from all your subscriptions, newest first, then older Shorts from the same channels.
3. Settings → Player & playback, under Shorts player: turn off Continue with recommendations, so it stops when your subscriptions run out instead of moving on to recommended Shorts.

All three are in v3.0.0.
