Stardrop Hangs Indefinitely on Startup

This is my first time trying to use Stardrop but it isn't usable on WIndows. I got the latest version (1.9.0) and when I launch it, it just hangs and Windows reports it isn't responding.

I tried both the GH release and the Nexus release and both have this issue.

I've had the same problem, for the past few months, but haven't heard from the devs on how to fix it yet.
