@sharpSteff My plan is to focus on macOS in the coming weeks and Linux port in the near future, as OpenDevelop does require AvalonDock to run properly on those platforms.

If it is your goal to finish your port to macOS and Linux, please continue, and I won't move further on mine.

yes i like to continue the work on librewpf on linux.
Major topics:

• Encapsulation Drag/Float( @lextm your branch has already introduced some architectural solutions): A non Win32-API approach, which works on libreWPF

• Context-Menus are broken on Ubuntu. I currently do not know if that's a Avalondock (Win32) issue or comes from libreWpf

@sharpSteff All Popup-related controls are currently broken in LibreWPF, wieslawsoltes/LibreWPF#1 So, either you ignore them and focus on the docking itself, or you cherry-pick my fixes from the openwpf branch of this fork https://github.com/lextudio/openwpf

There is no hurry to ship v5, so I agree that we might finish macOS and Linux ports first.

@sharpSteff I think I just finished the macOS port last night and added extensive automated testing based on DevFlow for WPF.

Will clean things up in the coming day so that you can refer to them on Linux.

That sounds great. I'm struggling a little bit with the float/drag/dock mechanism. I replaced the win32-api hwnd mechanism with a native wpf one. It's currently very glitchy. But that's probably still librewpf's early state. E.g window resizing stretches basically just all elements

Then you might want to leave this task to me, as I can launch a Ubuntu VM later this week and see how much extra work is needed. @sharpSteff

The key is to set up a minimum sample with DevFlow to test out the specific features (splitter drag, drag to float, and drag to dock) and then AI tools like Claude can fully automate their investigation for minutes/hours. Only that can try out a lot of possible ways and show us the best option.

@sharpSteff let's wait for wieslawsoltes/LibreWPF#26 to be addressed first. I don't want to keep my own "openwpf" branch for too long as rebasing it becomes more difficult recently.

yes. wieslawsoltes/wpf is still very early, but moves so quickly.
I created yesterday an issue wieslawsoltes/LibreWPF#18 and it was solved within a couple of ours ...
