Be decent. Assume the other person is trying to help. Disagree about the work, not about each other.
- Criticise ideas, code and decisions -- freely and directly. That is the job.
- Take a correction well. Being wrong in public is how a project stays right.
- Leave people their dignity when they are wrong, including when you are certain.
Harassment, personal attacks, demeaning comments, unwelcome attention, or publishing someone's private information. None of this becomes acceptable because the technical point underneath it was correct.
Report a problem to the maintainers through the repository's private channels. Reports are handled discreetly. Maintainers may edit, remove or reject contributions and may block accounts, and will say why.
