Create Claude Code maintenance skill for SnowTower

Summary

Create a Claude Code skill specialized in maintaining the SnowTower project.

Requirements

The skill should:

1. Self-maintain: Keep the .claude/ folder organized and up to date
2. README maintenance: Keep the project README accurate and current
3. Documentation sync: Ensure docs reflect actual project state
4. Agent/pattern review: Audit and consolidate agents and patterns

Technical Details

• Location: .claude/skills/snowtower-maintainer/SKILL.md
• Should reference existing agents in .claude/agents/
• Should follow Claude Code skill best practices

Acceptance Criteria

• Skill created with proper YAML frontmatter
• Clear instructions for maintenance tasks
• Examples of common maintenance operations
• Integrates with existing project structure

Testing Results & Issues Found

Tested the skill and discovered several issues that need to be addressed before release:

1. Statistics Commands Were Wrong

Original (broken):

grep -c "^  [A-Z]" snowddl/user.yaml  # Expected indent that doesn't exist

Fixed:

grep -c "^[A-Z].*:" snowddl/user.yaml  # Match top-level YAML keys

2. Skill Successfully Identified Real Issues

The skill found that README badges reference non-existent workflows:

• README had: merge-deploy.yml, pr-validation.yml
• Actual workflows: ci.yml, labeler.yml, changelog.yml, release.yml

This validates the skill concept works - it just needs refinement.

3. Scope Considerations

Current .claude/ folder has:

• 24 agents - significant consolidation opportunity
• 1 pattern - SERVICE_ACCOUNT_CREATION_PATTERN.md
• Various settings - settings.local.json

4. Remaining Work

Before this skill is ready:

• Fix all bash commands to match actual YAML format
• Add validation that commands work before documenting them
• Consider adding automated tests for maintenance procedures
• Review if skill should also consolidate the 24 agents
• Determine if this should be a skill vs just documentation

5. PR Status

PR #13 closed - will revisit in a future release.
