v2.6.0 is out — follow a playlist creator, skip duplicate lyrics files, and Deezer copyright tags

Download v2.6.0 — two features, both from community requests, plus a tagging fix that turned out to be bigger than the report that found it.

What's new

🎧 Follow a playlist creator (#135, requested by @alex5908) — click the creator's name on a Deezer playlist and you get everything else they've shared. Find one playlist you like, get the rest of that person's taste. Creators who keep their profile private show as plain text instead of a link, since there's nothing behind it to open.

📄 Skip the duplicate lyrics file (#141, requested by @shark0151) — the app used to save both the .lrc and the .txt for the same track, two files saying the same thing. Turn this on in Settings and only the .lrc is kept, with the .txt still written for tracks that have no synced version. Off by default, so nothing about your existing library changes unless you ask.

Also in the 2.5.x run

🏷️ Copyright now tags on Deezer (#139, reported by @lukisbaby) — it was reading an endpoint Deezer doesn't put copyright on. Fixed in 2.5.10, and anything you downloaded before that can be repaired without re-downloading: point Retag at the folder with Copyright ticked and it fills the tag in. You'll need to be signed in to Deezer for that one field; without a login it's skipped and everything else still retags.

🔧 MP3 files were saving with no tags at all (2.5.9) — one malformed lyric timestamp was rejecting the entire tag write, so files arrived with no title, artist or artwork. Retag fixes these too.

🖼️ Playlist folders were getting a random track's album cover (2.5.8) instead of the playlist artwork.
