New themes please add

How create new themes for program i dont see someone easy files with themes for edit. I can create much more nice themes. Like Kanagawa,Catpuccin,Rose Pine atd....

Thanks for asking, and I appreciate the offer. Let me give you a real answer rather than a one word no.

You are right that there are no theme files to edit. Themes are compiled into the app rather than loaded from disk. A theme lives in three places: a CSS block in src/assets/main.css, an entry in the ColorTheme type in the settings store, and a row in the picker list in the settings view. So there is nothing sitting in a config folder for you to drop a palette into, which is exactly why you could not find it.

That is not an oversight, it is the design. I am building this app to a very strict set of design principles, and I intend to hold to them. The deck is meant to look and behave like one specific piece of hardware sitting on your desk, closer to a piece of networking equipment than a typical desktop app. A fixed shell with a switchable accent light fits that. A pile of interchangeable skins does not. Adding a lot of things simply because they can be added is the opposite of what I am going for here, and every time I have let that instinct win in the past the result was a product with no point of view.

The bigger issue is what a theme actually controls here, and this is the part I want to be clear about. A theme in this app is only an accent ramp. It sets ten shades of a single primary color plus a three stop gradient for the logo. It does not set the background, the surfaces, the panel edges, or the text colors. Those are fixed, on purpose, for the reason above.

That matters for the ones you named. Kanagawa, Catppuccin and Rose Pine are beautiful, but almost all of their character lives in the backgrounds and the muted surfaces, which is the layer this app does not hand over. If I ported them, what would actually ship is the accent color and nothing else. Rose Pine would land more or less on top of the existing Rose theme, Catppuccin Mocha would land next to Violet and Dracula, and Kanagawa's blue would sit right beside Nord. You would end up with three new names in the list that look like four themes already in there, and anyone who picked them expecting the real thing would be let down. That is a worse outcome than not having them.

There is also a maintenance side. A few of the themes carry their own overrides beyond the color ramp, and every theme has to hold up in both dark and light mode. Signal and Nord both needed specific light mode fixes to keep text readable. Each addition is another set of contrast combinations to keep from breaking, and nine is already a lot to keep honest.

So I am going to leave the theme list where it is. Not because the idea is bad, and not because your palettes would not be good, but because opening that surface up would pull the app away from the thing I am deliberately building it to be.

If you have a specific accent color you want that genuinely is not covered by the current nine, tell me the hex values and I will take a look at that on its own merits. That is a different conversation from porting full editor palettes, and a much easier yes.
