Currently the Kartographer piggybacks on the Starfield shader pipeline which means the Starfield is required in order to render the Kartographer. No Starfield, no Kartographer. This was initially done to save time and because I assumed you would only want the Kartographer when using the Starfield. However, since that time and prior to release I added more visualization labels to the Kartographer that make it useful beyond being a star chart. I would like to split these two apart and allow them to be used separately so that the Starfield isn't forced by the Kartographer, I'd like people to be able to use it with whatever skybox they want. I don't have a timeline on this or exactly how I'll do it, but it's something I'm aiming for in a future release pre 0.4.0
