Implement something like albums / smart albums from LR

One of my biggest issues with any DAM that is not Adobe Lightroom is that none of them has something like "albums" (and "smart albums").

To be clear, and given how many different names people have been using for the same thing (while using the same name for different things), what I mean is something like a virtual collection, where you can simply put any photos no matter where they are located and without changing such location -- like a "playlist" for photos.

This is something that many people use in LR a lot, and by far one of the most used and intuitive features. It helps simplifying the workflow A LOT. Imho that's something that any program needs to have in order to offer a viable DAM-alternative to any serious photographer.

Just a data point, Darktable and Ansel have this in a way, for any tag you can do "Browse as collection"

Yes but that is more of a workaround. There are so many reasons to separate clearly between collections/albums and tags.

This is imho one point where RapidRaw could easily surpass other FOSS options in terms of ease of use. In fact, I think some work on the left panel to visualize folders, tags and collections at the same time would be awesome!
