Pedometer doesn't start at zero

Hi,
I've had fun making this project, and it's nearly there. I have one problem though.
The pedometer doesn't start at 0, mine started at -246
When you walk it slowly counts toward zero, and if you turn it off then on it remembers what number it's up to

I have used the esp32dev board in a few projects, so maybe there was some random number in the eprom?

I was wondering if there was a way to reset the pedometer to zero? That would be handy if your using it every day.

You can touch pin T0 to reset the count.
I have a resetStepCount() function in the StepDetector class. line62
Besides, I call the function in pedometer.ino line27.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I'll check it out.
I'd like to add some more sensors like a UV sensor, which would be handy.
My main goal is to sync steps with my Home Assistant instance.

What does your Home Assistant do?

Home assistant is an open source home automation system.
It's an os you can install on a raspberry pi.
I control my lights, have an alarm system, play media, cctv etc
It incorporates just about every brand you could think of, into one system.

If I can get my steps into it, I could then write an automation that plays the theme from Rocky when I hit 10k steps. Lol.
