unviewed topic indicator

Description

as a student, I want to see at a glance which topics under a category are unread (eg. with a dot indicator) so that I can more easily find the posts I didn't see before. (this is different than the Unread page)

This already exists (unviewed topics have blue color, while viewed topics have black font color). This would fall under a frontend design change, so doesn't work. Come up with a different user story please.
