Hello,
At this stage, pyCinemetricsV2 is officially supported on Windows environments only. While we understand the interest in running it on macOS, compatibility with Mac (including via virtual machines) remains limited due to underlying system and dependency differences, and we have not yet been able to fully resolve these challenges.
🔹 If you need to use the tool urgently, we recommend installing it in a native Windows environment (e.g., via Boot Camp or a separate Windows machine) for the most stable experience.
🔹 Regarding macOS support: We are actively working on a native Mac version, which is currently in internal testing. Once it reaches a stable, user-ready state, we will announce it publicly and notify interested users—including you—via email.
Again, thank you for your patience and for helping us improve the software. If you have any further questions or need assistance setting up a Windows environment, please don't hesitate to let us know.
Best regards,
Chunfang Li
