Installing Nexus on a Bright Cluster

Steps:
------


- Install Nexus using the wizard GUI and select /cm/shared/apps/nexus as the installation path.

- Install Intel 's MPI : yum install intel-mpi

- Install a recent revision of CMDaemon (17943 or later)

The required changes will be incorporated in the following Bright release. For the time being we have prepared RPMs that include the changes. They are located at  http://support.brightcomputing.com/landmark/

Grab and install these RPMs on the head node and inside the software images.

- Create the  following environment module files

		1)    /cm/shared/modulefiles/nexus/4.7.0

		with the following contents:

				#%Module1.0
				proc ModulesHelp { } {
				global dotversion

				puts stderr "\tNexus 4.7.0 (Nexus, VIP, OW)"
				}

				module-whatis "Nexus 4.7.0 (Nexus, VIP, OW)"
				conflict nexus
				setenv NEXUS_SIM /cm/shared/apps/nexus/nexussimulators
				setenv NEXUS_SCRIPT /cm/shared/apps/nexus/nexusscript
				setenv LM_LICENSE_FILE /cm/shared/licenses/lgc/license.dat

		and 

		2)  /cm/shared/modulefiles/nexus-mpi /4.7.0

		with the following contents:

				#%Module1.0
				proc ModulesHelp { } {
				global dotversion

				puts stderr "\tNexus Intel MPI 4.7.0 (Nexus, VIP, OW)"
				}

				module-whatis "Nexus Intel MPI 4.7.0 (Nexus, VIP, OW)"
				conflict intel-mpi
				prepend-path PATH /cm/shared/apps/nexus/nexussimulators/LinuxEM64/Intel-MPI/intel64/bin
				prepend-path LD_LIBRARY_PATH /cm/shared/apps/nexus/nexussimulators/LinuxEM64/Intel-MPI/intel64/lib


- Install the license file in /cm/shared/licenses/lgc/license.dat

- Make sure that the nodes can access the FlexLM server.
