Repeater: Weather Station to Repeater with Solar to Ground Station #19

technically both, the groundstation and a transmitter board, can be used for that. As the transmitter board is more low power design and already has battery + solar support I would use this. Charging current is limited to 95mA (set by a resistor on the PCB), so without changing that, the maximum solar panel power does only increase charging duration, not speed. I tried a 150x130mm panel, wich gave ~7mA on a rainy-cloudy morning (~1mA on the 50x50 panel) It will be possible to use/add a wind sensor to the repeater as well, so could be any wind station at a high position. On the original sender it will be required to set a forward flag, wich should only be activated if no GS is range. I will work on that and let you know when its ready to use. |
Uh oh!

Is it possible to relay or amplify the signal from a weather station via a repeater? I have problems with some weather stations where the signal cannot reach a ground station. I am imagining a repeater with a solar panel that only forwards the weather data. Could the Breezedude ground station be modified so that it retransmits the received data from the weather station, so that the signal can also reach a ground station with Internet?
