Hi Dave, I have your integration working in HA and want to use it with predbat as the alternative Carbon Intensity UK integration has stopped working for me. I see your integration provides the current rate as a sensor and the current day and next day values as events. I need the data from the current day event as a sensor to work with predbat. I suspect I could create a template sensor to extract the data but doing that is beyond my skills at present. Could you advise how to do that or provide the data as a sensor in the integration?

Hello. I'm not sure what type of sensor you require. The events cannot be a value of a sensor as the data is too large. My other integration uses this setup and is compatible with predbat, but I'm not sure if there is something special predbat is doing.

OK, thanks for your response. I'm not technical enough to get in the middle of you and Trefor but if it can be made to work with predbat I would appreciate it. I'll raise an enhancement request on predbat to see if Trefor can take a look from his end.

Hi Dave,

Predbat needs the carbon intensity data for the next 48 hours. The original Carbon integration (which still works for me https://github.com/jfparis/sensor.carbon_intensity_uk) has this data, a screen shot of it is below.

Can you put the next 48 hours data into an attribute so it can be read by Predbat? While states have a limited size attributes can be much larger.

The data for today and tomorrow is available across two sensors, in the same way to my OE integration. Does it have to be a single sensor?

Across two is fine, well 48 hours is ideal as per the older integration.

What am I doing wrong I can't see any data?

The data is available in two event sensors, which are disabled by default. More info can be found in the docs

To my knowledge, the data is already exposed in the same way as octopus energy.
