Determine how to define a bounding box

Speak with Ahmad about how to define a bounding box.
Should it be in index space or should it be in gps space.
Should we do an upper corner with width and height? Should we do an upper corner and a lower corner?
How will this be provided to the tool.

I talked with Ahmad and he suggests implementing using UTM coordinates or geographic coordinates.
I found that our software is using UTM coordinates.
He advised defining a crop function which will do the cropping mechanism and allows input from the user.
input: user will provide the file (address to the large dataset)
user will also provide the top left (x,y) and lower right tuple coordinate (x,y) of the rectangle. and then the function should return the cropped subset.
Command line utilities would be fine.
