ome-zarr.js could have an option to generate a 'volumetric' preview, similar to the default of VOL-E
first sample tries to render with ome-zarr.js, but it is a CT volumetric sample, so rendering single planes is less informative
for the second I generated the thumbnail manually with vol-e; the OME-Zarr is at

The VOL-E Core package is licensed as BSD-3:

It may be possible to add vole-core as a dependency and use it directly (with the usual trade-offs)
