I confirm:
- [y] that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
- [y] that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.
Symptoms
Assetto Corsa Rally appears to read a controller as a steering wheel.
Reproduction
- Enable wine-wayland via PROTON_USE_WAYLAND=1 flag. Optional - pass PROTON_USE_SDL=1 (explained later).
- Launch the game.
- Enter Settings -> Inputs.
- Attempting to bind any gamepad action, results with the game show a warning saying "this input cannot be bound to this device category". Using the same input in "Racing Wheel" category, creates a binding. Examples:
Left Stick Horizontal Axis - Analog2
Left Stick Vertical Axis - Analog1
Right Stick Horizontal Axis - Analog4
R1/Right Bumper - Button6
- If using SDL via PROTON_USE_SDL, my controller is being read as both a gamepad and a steering wheel. I can now navigate the menus, however I can still bind my controller as a steering wheel. This is still an issue, as I cannot drive a car during a race, as this game defaults to the fake steering wheel input, which is waaayy too sensitive and does not allow adjusting a deadzone.
