Update EFLOW from GitHub posted releases or Microsoft Update Catalog

Question Summary

• Are the MSI filles the same from both the GitHub Releases and the Microsoft Update Catalog?
• Can we use the ones from the GitHub releases to do updates to EFLOW?
• Should the version 1.5.6.0825, available on the Microsoft Update Catalog be removed to avoid installations of this version? The MSI download link for this version was disabled on the GitHub releases.
• Given that updates need to be installed in sequence, and knowing that versions 1.5.5 (not available on the Microsoft Windows Catalog) and 1.5.6 have the issue with the identityd name mismatch, shall we wait for version 1.5.7 to be available on the Microsoft Windows Catalog to be able to update to the latest version (1.5.7)?

Detailed background
At the moment the Microsoft Update Catalog doesn't have the latest version of EFLOW yet, and the latest version available there is on GitHub Releases with the links deactivated due to known issues.

Hi @nelsonmorais, the links in the release notes that say "Download " are the same links as on Microsoft Download center and either can be used for fresh installs. The links uploaded to Microsoft Update Catalog, used for updates, are different. Thank you for pointing out that 1.5.7 was not available in the Windows Update Catalog, that should be resolved now.

The issue present in 1.5.6 that led us to disable the fresh install links in the release notes is only present in fresh installs, not in upgrades. If you have upgraded to 1.5.6 from a fresh install version earlier than 1.5.5, you should not see the issue. If you are doing a fresh install of EFLOW, please install 1.5.7.

@SummerSmith We just installed version 1.5.7.01026 but we still see on the App & features that Azuire IoT Edge LTS shows version 1.5.6.08025

On a new machine where we installed (clean installation so not an update) version 1.5.7.01026 we see the correct version number on Apps & features:

So it looks like there's an issue on the Windows Update package labeled for version 1.5.7.01026 that either has the incorrect Azure IoT Edge Setup msi on it or the msi sets the incorrect version after the install completes.

see steps below:

1. Open the link
2. Download Version [Azure IoT Edge for Linux on Windows (x64 Version 1.5.7.01026)]
3. Copy file to Desktop, extract and run the installer

4. Check Version in Apps&Features
