Simple and free way to view total number of consumed signing transactions in current billing period?

The marketing spiel says we can "optimize costs" with Artifact Signing but neither the Portal nor the invoice shows us how many transactions we have consumed out of the monthly quota. We've been asking for this for almost two years. I don't want to log every transaction, I just want a total.

There should also be an option to send email alerts at certain thresholds, e.g. 50%, 80%, 90%, 100%.

@michaelcsikos when you say historical usage, you mean seeing historical usage without having to pay for storage account?
Although, this is on our roadmap to provide for a way to view the usage via other avenues within Azure portal itself. Your ask helps push the priority on this :).

We're flying blind here, and we shouldn't have to have blob storage and custom logging to know how much we've used. Microsoft could bill us for going over the limit and we would have no idea if it's legitimate, or similar to our typical usage. Imagine if your phone or electricity company did this; it would be absolutely outrageous.

I find it hard to believe that this product has progressed all the way to General Availability without this most basic requirement: How much have I used?

We do have same problem. We are running blind and we don't know when we should switch to a higher tier subscription.
Our strategy is to do that, whenever we see higher bill from Trusted Signing, but it's a bit ridiculous to not be able to know that on demand - even as simple as having a total count anywhere from the current billing cycle.

The service must have the value under-the-hood to keep limitations, it shouldn't be hard to expose it to the Azure UI for readability? Even something simpler like a total count from current active period + previous period would be really helpful.

Hi, I wanted to check on the status of this request. Like @michaelcsikos and @grzegorzkrukowski, I’m looking for a simple way to get insights into usage so that we can determine if switching to the higher tier is necessary. Ideally, this would not require creating a separate storage account to parse logs.

So, in the Azure Portal, Copilot suggested Show me SignCompleted metrics for this Trusted Signing Account. OK, this sounds promising.

It shows me zero completed. I click Open in Metrics Explorer, change the date range to the last 12 months, and still nothing.

Interesting finding. @TacoTechSharma maybe we should ask the team here, because we should be emitting these metrics. @michaelcsikos by any chance can you reach out to my email with your artifact signing information? I want to see if we can narrow it down here for a repro.

@Jaxelr, OK, account info emailed. I suspect we still need to set up logging but the Copilot suggestion didn't mention it at all.
