Still working in 2026?

I'm using Linux with osu-wine, Alt+M does not bring up anything

it still works on my machine, but im using windows
if it runs there should be a igdlLog.txt file in osu folder

Yes, there does seem to be an igdlLog.txt folder in the osu folder saying this

Yes it's off, I can't run it the game anyways with compatibility mode on

pushed new version, downloader should still work in background now even if overlay fails

So how am I going to download the maps if I can't see the overlay?

Also one peculiar thing I noticed after downloading the latest DLL is that osu! seems to update and then replace the DLL with the one that it got from it's update, igdlLog.txt is present but the current dll file is only 146.7KiB where it's supposed to be 744KiB

when you click a beatmap link that you dont have yet like when multiplayer or in chat, it will download and load the map when done for you, without opening browser
that was the main purpose of this, the overlay just for seeing downloading status and some settings

yes osu update will overwrite it, have to copy it back

So am I supposed to let osu update, then while the game is running overwrite osu's dll with yours or is there a specific procedure? I can't really think of anything else besides that

do your osu keep stuck updating every time you replace the dll or something? i usually just let the update done close game then replace the dll open game and it works

When I replace the dll with yours it updates everytime and it replaces your dll with osu's, I'll try doing that though and let you know

Yeah osu! updates when I replace the dll with yours so I never get to use yours
