Add more logic options to allow tricks like boosted, extended, ect in logic.

What feature would you like to see?

Since this has been brought up a few times. Here's a GitHub issue for it to keep discussion organized, easy to follow, ect.

Pontoon skip

So far, the following options have been added to the jak1-advanced-movement branch, grouped by (my subjective) difficulty.

Easy

These tricks can generally done in a casual play-through. They may require using obscure game mechanics but are not really in the "glitch" category and can be learned in a very short time once the player knows about them.

It should be fine for players to enable these options even if they know nothing about them, and look them up during a run if they get stuck.

• Attack with Roll Jump
  • Treat Roll Jump as a valid attack to hit the Pelican, and Eco Harvesters in SB; as well as the mirror in FJ
  • It would be possible to extend this to other areas (e.g. fighting the lurkers in SM), but depending on the available space this can be a bit tricky
• Attackless Lurker Cannons
  • Get the lurker cannon power cells without having an attack move unlocked
• Attackless Pelican
  • Get the Pelican power cell without having an attack move unlocked

Medium

These tricks may require some precise movement or more obscure glitch knowledge and setups. They may require some practice and can lead to some additional deaths, but are generally doable in max. 15 minutes even if the player just looked up how to do them.

Players who played the game before should be able to enable these options even if they know nothing about them. If they get stuck, they can look up the trick and learn it, assuming they have some determination and are not afraid to do simple glitches.

• Punch Uppercut Scout Flies
  • Treat Punch Uppercut as a valid move to break scout fly boxes
• Geyser Rock Cliff Climb
  • Climb up to the last power cell in Geyser Rock with only Single Jump
• Sandover Village Cliff Orb Cache Climb
  • Climb up to the SV cache (and blue eco next to it) with only Single Jump
  • also allows you to get an additional Scout Fly
• Sentinel Beach Cannon Tower Climb
  • Climb up the cannon tower in SB with only Double Jump
  • Hard Option: with only Jump Kick
• Forbidden Jungle Elevator Skip
  • get into FJ temple without having elevator unlocked
• Misty Island Early Far Side Orb Cache
  • get the orb cache with only Single Jump
• Misty Island Arena Fight Skip
  • get the power cell "Return To The Dark Eco Pool" without having an attack move unlocked
• Misty Island Far Side Cliff Seesaw Skip
  • get to the far side cliff (with "Scout Fly On Ledge Near Arena Exit") without using the seesaw, having only Single Jump
• Rock Village Early Orb Cache
  • get the orb cache in RV with only Single Jump
• Rock Village Pontoon Skip
  • get to BS/Klaww without having Warrior's Pontoon unlocked
• Klaww Cliff Climb
  • get up to Klaww, using only Single Jump
• Klaww Boulder Skip
  • removes the Power Cell requirement for Klaww once you can get up to the boulder (when also using "Klaww Cliff Climb", this is immediately upon reaching RV)
  • This is mainly a separate option because it unlocks a lot of locations once you reach RV and allows you to just enable the previous option if you don't want that but still want to climb/glitch your way up
• Boggy Swamp Precise Movement
  • Relaxes the BS logic so that paths where you take unavoidable damage are still in-logic. Requires you to go through the whole BS with only Single Jump (though it may not be possible to collect everything on the way, depending on the unlocked moves)
• Snowy Mountain Entrance Climb
  • Enter SM without having any "jump very far" move options unlocked
  • Medium option requires Double Jump or Crouch Jump
  • Hard option requires only Single Jump
• Snowy Mountain Flut Flut Skip
  • Reach the end of the Flut Flut course in SM with only Single Jump (assuming you can get over the first gap in SM, see option above)

Hard

All other tricks that may require very good movement, lead to many deaths, or have long runbacks when dying/failing the trick.

Players should understand each of these option before enabling them, as they may lead to a player getting stuck during a run, even if they look up how the trick works.

• Boosted & Extended Uppercuts
  • Currently only used in a few locations:
    • SV: Reach oracle platform
    • FJ: Reach plant boss from inside temple without blue eco switch unlocked
    • BS: Flut Flut course without Flut Flut
    • SM: Jump over the first gap using Punch Uppercut
    • GMC: Use Punch Uppercut to cross medium gaps
• Sentinel Beach Blue Eco Switch Skip
  • Reach the jump pad in SB using only Punch or only Roll Jump
• Forbidden Jungle Attackless Spiral Stumps Scout Fly
  • Reach the scout fly on the Spiral Stumps using only Single Jump
• Misty Island Attackless Scout Flies
  • Get up to 5 scout flies in MI using only Single Jump (except of only the Zoomer Scout Fly in default logic)
• Boggy Swamp Flut Flut Escape [Very Hard?]
  • Escape with Flut Flut in BS to reach the ambush area and do it with no attack moves
• Boggy Swamp Flut Flut Skip
  • Clear the BS Flut Flut course using only Roll Jump
• Snowy Mountain Flut Flut Escape
  • Escape with Flut Flut in SM to reach all orbs, scout flies, and power cells once you can reach Flut Flut (except fort interior, if you haven't unlocked "Snowy Fort Gate")
  • Reachability of Flut Flut depends on the "Snowy Mountain Entrance Climb" setting - once you can cross the gap, you can reach Flut Flut

Very Hard

• Lost Precursor City Single Jump Slide Tube Climb
  • Reach the power cell at the bottom and climb up the helix using only Single Jump
• Boggy Swamp Attackless Ambush
  • Clear the BS ambush by only shooting yellow eco through your goggles, with no attack moves. Enabling this makes the previous option do nothing as the ambush can always be cleared in logic
• Snowy Mountain Fort Gate Skip
  • Reach interior of SM Fort, without having Fort Gate unlocked
  • Option 1: Crouch Jump + Jump Kick + Double Jump + Punch Uppercut
  • Option 2: Flut Flut

Additional Tricks

Some additional tricks I know about that haven't been added yet (but could be if it's worth it) are listed here.

• Boosted & Extended Uppercuts
  • There are probably a lot more places that are reachable with this, but I'm probably the wrong person to find them all
• Boosted Jump Dive
  • Treat Jump Dive as a movement option to jump higher
  • More work needed to look through all regions to figure out what can be reached with this
• Mountain Pass Yellow Eco Switch Skip
  • reach the hidden power cell in Mountain Pass without having the Yellow Eco Switch unlocked
• Zoom Walking
  • is already used in some options, but may deserve a separate option - but I don't know which locations become reachable with Zoom Walk
  • e.g. reach Oracle in SV with Double Jump only
• LPC Chamber Cell
  • from Discord: If I may make a suggestion, you can also get the chamber cell in lpc from oob without jump dive if you have high jump and double jump (I don’t think air spin is needed but not sure) (Or technically with just air spin if you zoomwalk from rock village but that’s very hard)
