The Problem
Many localisations have been created for GTA: Vice City, each using different fonts. Unfortunately, it is rather tricky (though not impossible) to install third-party localisations on the reVC engine, as in many of them the position of the characters—and, more importantly, the spacing between them—has been altered. This leads to a situation where letters overlap, making words difficult or even impossible to read.
A plugin was created for the original game that allowed the spacing between letters to be adjusted. Naturally, this tool does not work with reVC.
Request
Could you please implement the ability to use an external file in which the spacing between letters in the font could be adjusted without having to edit the engine’s source code and recompile it?
An example of such a plugin for the original game is vcfontsize.asi. This plugin uses the fonts.dat file.
What do you think of this idea?
